unicyling music

what does everyone listen to when they ride. I listen to Pinback now days. I tend to lean more to the calm music for when i’m riding.

I only listen when I ride my coker, but not Muni since it requires my full concentration. But when cokering, I have about 400 songs to choose from on my ipod, and the music variety is fairly diverse, ranging from classic rock from the 60’s-80’s, pop, easy listening, classical, metal, and some jazz. It’s all good! :sunglasses:

Pinback is great! I too usually listen to them. Or Explosions in the Sky.

I listen to the dragonball Z soundtrack.

It gets me pumped up

Honking.

I really like the new Beastie Boys Cd: The Mix-Up, entirely instrumental. It’s good stuff. It’s more jam than their normal rap beats.

Most of you are only mentioning one group, and so I’m assuming that you guys are listening to variety of music when you ride, and not a handful of songs from just one artist. That would get old pretty fast, no matter WHO it was. Of course if you’re just riding for a short time than I can understand that. I’m on my coker for at least 2 hours at a stretch, so I really need to mix things up.

Preferably, the birds and the creek.

I listen to everything I like.

I can listen to dream theater, rhapsody, children of bodom, iced earth, and all other bands I ahve on my mp3 players for hours and hours. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t have an Mp3 player but the music that gets me pumped for a ride is usually stuff like Cecil Taylor, NRG, Anthony Braxton, King Missile, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and stuff like that.

Haha I don’t know 90% of that stuff! But then again I’m an old geezer so what you young people listen to is mostly from your generation.

Ok so you’re listening to whole albums, one after another? Usually, for me anyway, I find that there are maybe 3-4 good songs (if that) on any given CD, unless it’s greatest hits. That why I like to put only individual favorites on my Ipod, and not just whole albums, unless they are ALL good, which is rare. Beatles, Boston (first album), Some Zeppelin CD’s and only a handfull of others have all great songs on one album. Again, I just like a lot a variety.

haha, i listen to Hollywood Undead, KMK, Flaminio Maphia (French Rap), the song from flat trip i have on ipod, i love it for street riding!

I’ve never heard of a hefty majority of those either.

I never listen to music when I ride…mostly because I don’t have a portable listening device.

I listen to the wind in my ears and the sounds of my tyre zipping along.

most stuff that has a good beat to a ride to, or if ipod is dead ill sing to myself, well soemtimes lol! When i get bored enough!

Yeah for artists I have with many many good songs I make a best of playlist on my iPod. I love it. I also have a best of overall playlist. It’s got about 3,000 songs on it, and is great to listen to.

It depends if I am doing xc and just riding the bike trials then I love classical violin and other types. When doing street trials I normally listen to slip knot, Manson, I.C.P., twiztid, the moldy peaches, Blue Scholars, Cryptic One, Eminem and some others.
