It’s working for me…
By Henry, you’re right!!
He was probably trying to update the site or something, and he just screwed it up temporarily. It’ll be back soon, methinks.
It’s working in IE but gives the XML parsing error with Firefox or Mozilla.
Hmmm… lame, I hope it fixes soon so I don’t have to use crapernet crapsplorer…
Is that why I get that error eventually when I browse that site.
I agree…
Or Netscape.
I don’t know what’s up with the browser compatibility. Knowing Leo’s feelings about MS, I find it very strange that the site is working better in IE than Mozilla.
For some fun you could view the source in IE and then in Mozilla/Firefox. There is some irony in there.
ewww Crapscape…
Why did nobody noticed it’s webmaster?
That site has a special development environtment which I never use.
Most of my code-maintainance is in deed live.
To be most browser compatible I use xhtml strict, also the most fragile flavour of html.
The problem was caused by invalid xhtml in one of the links of the latest post:
href="dom.tld/doc.ext?param=1&par2=etc
<!-- which should be: -->
href="dom.tld/doc.ext?param=1&par2=etc
Good browsers won’t be able to deal with it.
Dumb browsers like MSIE don’t even know difference between html or xhtml, and those will display faulty pages without errors.
After I saw the bad post in my MSIE on my w2k3 desktop and in Safari on my iBook on OS-X 10.3.7 and so (not for the 1st time) I was’nt aware of the problem.
Unicyclist.org should usually run on 6 FreeBSD servers, 1 Linux server, 1 Apple X-serve, and one MS w2k3 server (for some aspects I do love Microsoft). Yesterday I unplugged one involved webserver for about 30 minutes, because I needed to place and remove rails for a dedicated server of an Australian customer that now is mounted underneath that webserver.
Anyway I hope to serve you lot’s of good stuff in the next year.
Wish it all inspires and motivates you to expand your limits!
Thanks much for fixing it!!!
for some reason, my dad like’s Crapscape even more than Crappernet Crapsplorer!! And of course he’s never imagined using Mozilla…
My dad was hooked on using interrnet explorer because the little click down bar that shows all your visited sites saved him a few seconds…
I forced him to use MF and I am soo… HAPPY
