Clever. She sings spirituals, too. I wish I would have known when she was going to be passing close by but I failed to find out. It would have been cool to tag along for awhile. Or, lag along in my case.
She made it!
I spoke with Gracie today as she was driving her way from her unicycle destination in western Washington to her home in California. She completed her goal of riding across the country and her goal of raising money and awareness for leukemia and lymphoma. Her website will still allow you to make donations for this very worthy cause.
It was such a wonderful pleasure to meet her and to vicariously share in her quests.
I am so proud to know this dynamic and successful young woman. She will always be an inspiration to me and those who know her.

Last night I was at our Albany, NY Ultimate (disc) summer league. A guy named Al (who was just passing through) happened to see my Bedford Uni shirt and asked me if I ride a uni, to which I answered yes.
Then he said he’d just finished a West-to-East x-country bike trip and he’d met Gracie Sorbello in a park in Eureka, KS.
