My lack of culture is gigantic. It reminded me of a powerful speech of the Doctor (from the famous Doctor Who series). It is in fact a speech given by JFK regarding the Moon mission.

No, not all of them. Some are just hard…
unicycling marriage. You got a typo in there.
Records are there to be:
- Questioned - Why?! Why would they do that?
- Admired - Wow. They are really skilled.
- Inspire - You see children. This is why you need to stay in school.
Hopefully your effort gets officially recognized and qualifies to do all the reasons listed above.

Yes, but maybe not on an athletic track, and I have some stuff to fix before (mostly my aerobars setup, they were probably too close, causing a lot of pain after half the attempt).
I used my road setup (the frame I had in Bemidji, with a G29/117). It was not perfect for this particular event (narrow aerobars, slightly too straight and a 29 inches wheel), but I don’t have the money to make the perfect uni for that. However, if @jaco_flans, light bicycles and Florian Schlumpf wanted some advertising (that they probably don’t need, everybody knows how good their stuff is) by making me a custom Ti frame and a fast carbon 36 wheel, I would be happy to help…

That reminds me—I submitted my 100-km record to GWR, and I received this response a few weeks ago:
Application disqualified -
We’ve looked at your evidence, and we’re sorry to say it didn’t follow some of the guidelines. Unfortunately, this means we can’t award a record this time.
For this record title, the guidelines said, The unicycle used in the attempt should be commercially available and ‘standard’, that is, it should consist simply of a single pole, a wheel, a seat, and a set of pedals that are directly coupled to the wheel (either through a chain or by being connected directly to the axle of the wheel). No other modifications, additions etc. are permitted.
But during the attempt, the unicycle used during the attempt was modified to include a V-frame and handlebars.
We can only approve a record when all the guidelines have been followed. This keeps things fair for everyone trying for that record.
We know this might be disappointing, but don’t worry, you can always reapply and give this record another go. Or why not explore our website for a different record that you’re interested in attempting.

I guess for the record for the tallest rideable unicycle, it didn’t have to be a “single pole” unicycle.

GWR guidelines are really dumb, and the more I learn about them, the less I find it appealing to get a WR homologated by them.
Most of the records they homologate are either dumb, not competed or below the "true " world record (either because they refused homologation or because the “true” WR holder didn’t try to contact them).
Some examples of what I said :
- Records below the “true” record :
- If we believe guinness, nobody has ever circumnavigated the world on a uni,
- The more km ridden on a uni in 24 hours is 455 km (not 526),
- The fastest 100 miles ever ridden on a uni is 6h44min (not 6h13min)
- Dumb records :
- I won’t be listing any, due to respect for other beings.
- Uncompetitive records :
- the fastest motorised clog shoe,
- longest unicycle chain (346 persons, it could be beaten so easily during a unicon or nationals…)
- Outdated WRs :
- longest jump on a unicycle (2.95 m, it misses nearly 2 meters)
- longest distance by unicycle on a line of bottles (30 m, could be easily beaten by any good trialist)
- most consecutive bunny hops on a unicycle (492, I’m sure 90% of the people reading this could beat it…)
Note thet all I’ve said above is said with all due respect to persons applying to guiness. I have no problem with them, only with guiness.

Exactly. Edd Pratt was told he didn’t qualify for the circumnavigation record because he didn’t cross two antipodal points, and stayed in some locations for longer than two weeks.
