Unicycling Obsession

Ah…yes. Rock Chalk Jayhawk. I was there in the earliest of the 70’s majoring in…well…you get the picture.

By the way, I think you misspelled “procreate” in your last post…but only the first time. With that one correction it all makes sense.

I sat my 7 week old daughter on a 28" Nimbus at Roger’s BJC stall on Friday.
Unfortunately my digital camera was in the car at the time, but Roger took a
picture and my wife got one on film. I shall have to get a picture of her
on my Coker.

I’ve also got a picture of my 4 year old niece sitting on my 20" (feet
nowhere near the pedals) -

With any luck, she’ll be asking her parents for her own yike in a couple of
years.

Re: Unicycling Obsession

I browsed through RFC1738, quite a read. And quite strict, too. It
occurs to me that this angle bracket “rule” is not very often adhered
to. My news reader (Free Agent 1.21/32) does not allow to surf to a
url via a right-click (nor via a left-click for that matter). Angle
brackets don’t change that. So what I do is select the url (carefully,
nothing more, nothing less), copy, paste into IE and hit <enter>.

It’s easiest (for me in F.A. but I think also in general) to select a
whole line, so if the url is on a line by itself as per Mark Newbold’s
suggestion that works best for me as a “consumer”. But it disturbs
somewhat the flow of the sentence of which the url is part. Second
best in easiness is to select a string of words if there are no
adjacent characters such as periods or angle brackets.

I’ll include urls in the way as I see fit.

AND with it, there is nothing to take out of context. Oops, did I
admit I thought about it?

Seattle Uni Riding?

Hello Harper.

My wife and I are moving down to Seattle this fall. Is there a Uni club in the region?

Thanks, KJP

Yes, there are two that I know of in the region. The Panther Pride Demo Team is in North Bend, WA which is about an hour east of town and the site of both the NAUCC and UNICON this year. You should move a little earlier to make those two conventions.
http://www.nwcue.org/

The other club is the Uniques of Lynnwood, WA. which is about 15 minutes north of town.

I have ridden with the Panther Pride group but not with the Uniques.

Have you considered the name Gregory C. Harper for your baby? I think it’s a gender neutral name so it should be appropriate for anyone.

Re: Unicycling Obsession

I rode a little bit with the Lynwood Unicycle Uniques a few years ago. They
meet once a week, and have many excellent and friendly riders. Most riders are
elementary age. There were two or three adult riders when I attended.

I’m volunteering a bit with the North Bend team this spring. They meet 5 days a
week, and their riders kick some serious booty. Most riders are elementary
school age, but there are a few older. These kids can perform many of the
skills you see on the UniVerse video.

Welcome to the territory,

David Maxfield
Bainbridge Island, WA

Thanks for the Seattle Uni Clubs info guys.

About 4 of us from our little group up here are planning on flying down for NAUCC convention this summer. We are all about level 3-4.

Sorry Greg, my wife didn’t like any portion of your name, although I told her about a great basketball coach of mine who was named Greg Henderson and she has committed to name our 14th boy Greg. Congratulations man!

It happened. http://www.speedy5.freeserve.co.uk/jenny/bjc2002.html

Unfortunately you can’t see the baby in the pushchair, but I assure you she
is in there. Catherine did not approve.

Now what you really need is a papoose rucksack. That’d really worry her!
