Unicycling in Phoenix?

Hi all,

Well I have been unicycling for 11 mos now and am as enthusiastic as ever. I
have five unicycles now (16, 20, 24, 26 and 28) and rotate (as it were) between
all but the 16" (for my little boys). .The worst part of summer seems to be
behind us here in Phoenix, and I am riding much more frequently. I would love to
meet some other unicyclists so I am going to attempt to organize a little get
together for an upcoming weekend. The difficulty is finding any unicyclists.

>From Gilby’s Unicycling Page I have gleaned email addys for a few one
wheelers in the Phoenix area but I don’t know how current these addresses
are. As it is there are only five but it’s worth a shot. Does anybody know of
any riders in the Phoenix area? Perhaps John Drummond has some email addys he
can share?

If I get a few people together one goal would be to see if there is any interest
in forming a club. I would love to expand interest in the Phoenix area. I feel
like the lone rider!

Alberto Ruiz had given me an old phone number for Charles Perez about 9 mos
ago but it didn’t work. I have noted that Charles is attending the King
Charles Troupe exhibition in White Plains so I don’t know if he even resides
in Phoenix anymore.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Charles Perez still resides in Phoenix. He did change his number, now he has a
cell phone. It is (602) 451-6774.

Re: Unicycling in Phoenix?

Keith, If you have any luck whatsoever, could you copy me on your e-mail
correspondence regarding the start-up club? I get into Phoenix about 3 or 4
times a year (It’s 4 hours by car - down to Safford, across the Apache Res.,
through Globe-Miami, over to Superior, and into the Valley). The thought of
having a club here in Arizona is pretty exciting. Even a single get-together
would be something different than doing the “lone unicyclist” thing. My problem
is making the event with my work schedule and the commute :frowning:

    Good luck!

Carl Trachte Morenci, AZ

P. S. It’s a long shot, but I think Luke AFB is still open. There might be
some interest within the military community there. Also, ASU - a lot of
students are not residents of Phoenix, but some may unicycle. Just a couple
of ideas. CBT
