Unicycling in New Zealand - new Web Pages?

Hi,

The New Zealand unicyclists used to have a number of excellent web pages.

Now my links to (1) the New Zealand Unicycling page, (2) the Uni-Grid page and
(3) Harold Jarvie’s email address are no longer working.

Can someone (Harold, are you listening?) provide me with some new URLs?

Thanks

Julian Orbach mailto:Julian.Orbach@unforgettable.com

p.s. Wondering about my recent flood of silly questions? I am in the process of
updating the Been There, Done That page - one small part of the
http://www.unicycling.org Unicycling Home Page.

Found it myself on a Japanese unicycling site!

Good job Julian

But its better to link to the bigfoot addresses

I will continue to update the dorm.org addresses for as long as I can but
there is a sizable lag between my notification of a changed IP and The
actual DNS update which makes it seem that the server is down (or you may
be redirected to a random site on the NZ ADSL) If you use the bigfoot
address the lag should never be more than a minute or two. Don't get me
wrong here the site is up 99% of the time with no problems. The problem
is only when my machine is given a changed IP address. I keep raving on
about this cause it really annoys me. I'm sorry but I hate my telco.
 There its out.

Hi Julian

I still exist and so do the pages. I fact with a bit of luck the pages
will get a major face-lift soon. I am still trying to sort the answer to
the DNS problems that have plagued me for the last year and taken the
time I would have rather put into the pages themselves.

The short of it email hjarvie@bigfoot.com <a href="http://bigfoot.com/~hjarvie">http://bigfoot.com/~hjarvie</a>
    <a href="http://bigfoot.com/~nzja">http://bigfoot.com/~nzja</a>

These web addresses should always work although they may not be the
addresses put into your browsers bookmarks. If they don't work for more
than an hour please email me.

     The long boring bit

I joined an ADSL pilot about 18 months ago which was great... cheap

fast and I could run a server at home. At six months Monolith went down and
stopped providing Dynamic DNS. I found another provider who’s service was about
50% so I Signed up with dorm.org who I still use. The last 3-4 month have seen
the Telco has realised that people are running their own servers and decided
this is bad (ADSL is to cheap compared to the old technology $99/mthADSL -
$2000/mth DDS) so they began degrading ASDL mainly by forcing changes to the
dynamic IP’s which means that I am now forced to look for a dynamic DNS provider
that does genuine realtime updates. http://gnudip.cheapnet.net is currently my
choice so the above bigfoot addresses point at jarvie.dyn.cheapnet.net

ps if you are on ADSL with dynamic IP and have a Nokia M10 Modem I have some
perl scripts to collect the address and detect changes etc.

and now I run around screaming and waving my arms
