unicycling in Monsters, inc.

Just a short note to let you know Pixar has included unicycling and
juggling in the new Disney movie Monsters, inc. It is just before it ends
and there are two real quick spots both of unicycling and juggling. It is
a real good movie too. Ever been affraid of monsters under your bed ? Go
see the movie.

Enjoy, Darren

Hi,

I’m gonna have to check that movie out. On the note of unicycling in movies. I saw the movie “The Grinch” last year, and there are plenty of unicyclists in it. So when it comes out this fall, check it out, and try to spot 'em all.

Evan.

The critter riding the Uni in Monsters Inc. was particualarly uncharismatic and simplisticly formed. Cartoons of this sort should stay away from political comentary, or risk masive unicyclist boycotts.

Christopher LeFay

Thanks - Will do

Anyone know when it’s out in UK?

Joe - The unitic extroadinaire

Speaking of monsters, there will be a Monster.com TV commercial coming out
soon that will feature some North Shore mountain unicycling action. I
believe this will initially air only in the U.S. and Canada but might be
played elsewhere eventually.

I’m not sure but it was a big production (35mm filming and over 1/2
million dollars spent on the commercial), and they said it would air in
prime time on a number of different networks.

Wow! a paying gig

I loved the Nissan Xterra commercial with Dangerous Dan. I can’t wait to
see the Monster.com commercial.

It was a commercial for the Nissan Xterra SUV with guys out doing manly
things to make the Xterra look like a tough truck. It had Dangerous Dan
Cowan and one other North Shore rider riding a ladder bridge, dropping off
and then stuffing their bikes in the back of an Xterra. It all looked
really “tough”. And the riders got paid for their work.

Dangerous Dan is one of the riders in the North Shore Extreme videos and
has done a lot to build the trails there.

Now we’ll get to see a commercial with muni in it. Too cool.

The Xterra commercial was shot with a rider named “Dangerous” Dan Cowan,
whom you have seen if you’ve watched any North Shore Extreme or Kranked
videos. It was shot on the same trail as the one I filmed for Monster.com,
but on other structures (The one I filmed on wasn’t completed until really
recently- this is a picture of it

on my Webshots site at some point.

Cheers,
