Any recent word from “the” organizers? I hope they are working smoothly toward a
big convention next year, but it would be nice to know, even if they have
nothing new to tell us, how they’re doing.

Other convention dates have been set, and we hope there will be no conflicts.
Let’s wish the organizers of UNICON X success in being able to choose dates that
will work well for us all.

We also have the dates for the British Unicycling Convention now, it will be
held in North Wales on 4/5th September 1999. More information will appear in the
next few weeks.

I know, It just reminded me about the British one and that I had not put any
post out about
it.At BJC we were discussing going to UNICON and it looks as if there will be a
quite few coming from the UK. We were also talking of getting there using the
Trans-Siberian Express.

Roger

Re: Unicycling Convention?

Roger, the Trans-Siberian is a great idea. I took it the other direction from
Vladivostok in 1992. Having your uni at the ready would be perfect. For instance
at the one stop at Lake Baikal, only 2 of us from the whole train made the run
to the lake. A uni would be perfect. It was something like a 16 minute stop (one
of the longest).

You’ll amaze people in those Siberian villages popping out of the train and
cruising around on your unis! We are planning on going too, although I was
thinking of via Japan. But let me know if this plan really materializes, and I
might come over and go that way.
