Unicycling bookmark list updated

Just a little note that I just updated my megalist of bookmark links. Added some new links and did a little bit of reorganization.

As if anyone cares. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, other than going to each link, and adding them to my favorites, is there a way to just add the whole list?

Also, that list is unbelievable!

Right-click on the links to save the bookmark files to your local computer. Youā€™ll have two files: cycle_bookmark.htm and unicycle_bookmark.htm

Then import them to your browser.
In IE you go File >> Import and Exportā€¦
In Firefox you go Bookmarks >> Manage Bookmarksā€¦ then File >> Importā€¦ and select import from file.

I can feel my productivity plunging as i type! Thanks!

Wow dude, thatā€™s rad! You did all that by yourself? Itā€™s gigantic! Any idea on the total count there?!

I didnā€™t hink it was possible, but you missed one.

Youā€™ve been added and the Megalist has been updated.

Iā€™ve missed others too. The trick is finding them.
Iā€™ve been looking for a web site for the Filipino Unicycling Network (FUN) unicycle club. They must have a web page but Iā€™ve been unable to locate it.

Thereā€™s a little under 1000 links in the unicycle section, but 400 of those are gallery links (links to galleries Iā€™ve downloaded pictures and videos from).

The bike section has about 250 links. Donā€™t ignore the bike links just because theyā€™re not unicycles. Thereā€™s good links in there for info on trails and equipment.

Iā€™ve been collecting unicycling links since I started surfing the web (a long time ago). Iā€™ve also gathered links from other link collections. Others Iā€™ve found on my own. The big job was finally organizing them. Once they were somewhat organized I figured I might as well post them.

I was trying to import this to my new Laptop, and it says itā€™s not a valid bookmark file. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I think I see what the problem is.
Gilby adds a line at the beginning of the page to add the graphic that says ā€œThis is a free unicyclist community websiteā€. That line is likely messing up the import. Open the HTML file in a text editor and remove everything before the line that says:
<!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
That DOCTYPE line should be the first line of the file.
Save the edited file.
The file should now import.

With such a massive amount of linksā€¦ you might want to keep them accurate.
In case you donā€™t know it allready; w3c.org has a webbased link checker which source is available.

Iā€™ve been using AM-DeadLink to identify the dead and redirected links. There are some dead links and redirected links in the list. I just havenā€™t gotten around to following up on all of them.

So, what about dumping them in a MySQL database, so you can easily maintain the list? With a simple webbased interface. (that can be connected with an ā€œadd link formā€ā€¦!)
Then it also it could have a RSS feed with both a ā€œdaily linkā€ and ā€œupdateā€ entries.
And with some manipulation in the .htaccess i.c.w. php you can also spit import files.
Just e-mail or PM me in case I can be at your service.

Now i know it not the best but thats because we havent had many meetings.

Got ya now. Thanks for the link.

I donā€™t have any plans for the links. I just had a bunch of semi-disorganized links. I finally got around to organizing them and when that was done I figured why not put them on the web to share.

The link list is just an exported bookmark file from IE. Thatā€™s probably as far as Iā€™m going to take it. However, the future is open.
