Unicycles and cactii

There’s a school across the street from my house, and in front of a small faculty parking lot there’s a hill, probably 20 feet up. So if I’m ever going out to uni for just 10-15 minutes I’ll go down here and ride around the school and down parts of this small little hill. Well, a teacher I used to have in elementary school, as this was an elementary school, came out with a small cactus in her hand. I’m guessing that she brought it in to school and wanted to take it home. She then realized that she forgot some papers and when she saw me she asked if I would make sure nothing happened to the cactus while she went in to get the papers. So, I went down this hill and was coming off the curb when I hit a small patch of mud and started slipping off. I tried to grab onto this teacher’s car to catch myself and my unicycle, but accidently slammed my left hand down on the cactus. I am right now typing this with my right hand, as I’m still having trouble getting some stuff out of my hand. Luckily, the cactus was fine, but this is going to be one hell of a night for me…

OW! :frowning:

Not the prettiest site…I made it through the night though and almost everything is out, but my hand will probably itch for a while.

You OWE your community a picture- go out and find another cactus (don’t abuse the same one) and bring us back a photo.

Let that be a lesson to you. Never practice unicycle moves year your former
teacher’s car.

Or my car.

You never know when the unicycle might go flying, or when you might end up
using a cactus to catch yourself.

You’re doing a great job. Some of us can’t find the Shift key and the right
letters even with both hands!

Yeah, I definately want to see a picture, or you can actually just put your hand on a scanner.

I really need to start taking cameramen out with me. And advice to a person who needs to type with just one hand: the CAPS lock is an excellent substitute for the shift key. Press it, it’s on, press it again, it’s off.

A cameraman is like an extra piece of safety equipment. If he’s there to
catch you messing up, you won’t. Just like wearing wristguards. If you have
them on, you won’t fall, except on your knees and head. If you’re wearing
helmet, wristguards, and knee protection, you’ll fall on your elbows.

I hardly ever fall on my safety equipment.

One night camping on the Pacific Crest Trail I just barely brushed my bare leg up against an innocent-looking cactus with obvious spines. No problem with just a scratch or two, right? But invisible from 5’ up were thousands of little hair-thin spines… it took a lot of plucking to get those painful little buggers out!
