Unicycle size

Hello to U all !
I am new to unicycling and to this site. I am over 45 years of age and looking for unicycle. I was offered a 24" but I am not sure how to choose the right unicycle.
Any advise?

Thanks a ot Gili

The 24 is a great all around size. It’s not too hard to learn on and it can actually get you somewhere. Some will say that a 20 inch cycle is easier to learn on, but it is nearly useless for going any sort of distance on. On the other hand, if tricks are what you are looking towards, the 20 incher is what you want. Do a search for “first unicycle” or beginner and you’ll find tons of threads with lots of good advice.

Oh, and welcome to the wonderful world of unicycling!

I learned at age 47 on a 24" unicycle. For some advice on choosing a
unicycle (and more), see my Tips for Beginners page, it’s the second
link on http://www.xs4all.nl/~klaasbil/uniindex.htm .

What kind of riding do you want to get into? Here is my rule of thumb.

16" - Small Kids Uni

20" - Learner/Freestyle

24" - Regular riding/Learner

26" and up - Cruising

Re: Unicycle size

Re: Re: Unicycle size

definitely - if you decide unicycling’s not for you, then it hasn’t cost you anything - if you decide it is for you, it would start getting expensive anyway (1 year riding, and I’ve now got 5 unis!)
