Unicycle Roller Skates

I ran across an interesting invention. Looks like someone has designed a unicycle roller skate…one wheel under each foot. Here’s the link:

Wouldnt that be even harder than a unicycle? There is no way to control how fast and which direction the wheel moves. And yes, i know that my Statement applies to the B.C. wheel too, but i understand how that is possible.

I would be concerned about breaking my ankles with the wheel getting in
front of and behind me. Nothing to help hold your foot level. The same
applies, only moreso, to the sides. Like super platform shoes.

I’ve seen drawings from 100 years ago of some single-wheeled skate shoes,
and Al Hemminger even found a pair at a flea market once. The wheels go
next to the feet, on either the inside or outside (I think Al’s were on
the inside). This puts you closer to the ground and eliminates most of the
broken ankle problem.

But Al’s shoes had no braking mechanism, which would be a big problem to
skate without. But I would definitely try Al’s pair (which were a child’s
size) before I would try the 1991 patented version. Those would be hard to
even stand on without some form of ankle bracing.
