Unicycle Road Sign

Turning out the loft the other day, I came across an old newspaper
cutting. Pensioners fed up with old people crossing signs had come up with
some of their own, including a picture of a unicycling pensioner.

The single (left?) crank must be on a rachet, whilst grandad uses his
right foot as a brake?

And the zimmer frame provides the necessary crumple zone.
