I did a search on tvguide.com for “unicycle” to see if I could get a hit on
the Ripley’s show featuring Kris. Instead I got a hit on the Guinness World
Records TV show.
Here is the description of the show that airs Friday evening (9:00 PM in my
area): Guinness World Records Attempted records include dropping for distance
down a waterfall in a kayak; and jumping rope more than 160 times in a minute,
while on a unicycle. Host: Mark Thompson.
Category: Other, specialty & other Originating Country: United States Release
Year: 2000
I thought the current record for jumping rope is closer to 170+ times in a
munute? Anyone know who is making the attempt? Anyways, it’s a good week for
unicycles on TV.

Do you know the numbers for these various records? Male, female, with strap,
and without?

The current record is 169 jumps in a minute set by Connie Cotter. This was done
for some UK TV program which I think was named Record Breakers. I haven’t heard
of anything about it being on the Guinness show until now, but I am guessing
that the show will use the video footage from the other show.

There are two jump roping records. One with bungie cords (or other devices that
strap the person to the unicycle) and one without any help (hopping freehand).
From the last time I saw Jesse jump rope, he was using a bungie cord.
