unicycle on TV

On Thursday, Zoom, the PBS kid’s TV show, featured a kid with a uni. He was
about 12. It looked like he had a 24" with the seat too low. He was pretty
wobbly but he had fun. His dad sent him for groceries and he rode right into
the store.

One of the hockey players for the Philedelphia Flyers also unicycles. I’ve
been told that he rides his unicycle to practice daily! If only I could
remember who it was!

Re: unicycle on tv

last night my parents called me out to the living room to watch a jump-roping
unicyclist on TV (the Guiness show) - and I saw Peter Rosendahl (sp?) get 166
jumps in a minute, breaking his old world record of 162!

He didn’t use a seat strap, and he had his 20" tire pumped up to 78
pounds, I think!

Josue Barreto - he’s the star of the unicycling skill level video, right?

I wonder what nationality he is. That will be quite an addition to a unihockey
team. I hope that nobody finds an NBA Player that can unicycle.

That was before my time, but I understansd that Peter competed in UNICON I, held
in the USA, and was the first Artistic World Champion.

He did compete in UNICON IV in Puerto Rico in 1988, the first UNICON where IUF
Rules were used. Peter came in second place. Somebody called John Foss, or
something like that, beat him and swept all the male trophies. A 15 year old
Josue Barreto came in third, and a 14 year old Jose Roman came in fourth. John,
Josue and Jose all attended UNICON X in Beijing.

Sem Abrahams, who was also present at Beijing, was the Chief Judge.

Josue made level 10 of the video. He came out of retirement to get a second
place in expert freestyle at UX.

You may see some photos of UX at www.javier.unicyclist.com Josue is in several
of them, probably the best is named gaby josue charlotte.
