Unicycle on phonebook

Last year my son, Woody, posed for a picture of him riding a giraffe
unicycle down a country road with some serious looking storm clouds in the
distance. The picture was used on Surewest Communication’s Annual Report.
The theme of the picture was ‘Poised for the Future’. The company has done
some very serious capitalization, and wanted to send the message that
things look a little shaky, but don’t worry, we’re in good shape and know
what we’re doing. The picture was pretty cool and they decided to use a
slightly different version of the same photo on the cover of the 2002
Roseville, CA telephone book .

I will scan the cover and ask John Foss to post it on his site.

Thanks for the link! I took the liberty of making a JPEG of the cover
image and putting it up on John Hooten’s page so it’s easier for all
to see (and
1/10th the download):

Way to go Woody! I’m printing that picture for my “Unicycles in the Media”
board in the kitchen.

that’s a really good picture, no wonder they used it.

Fabulous! I have it on the desktop. Is there a copy without the text? 'Suppose a half hour in Photoshop could take care of it… still, I’d rather be unicycling.

Thanx,

Christopher

The picture on the cover of the phonebook doesn’t have the text. I have
scanned the cover and will send it to John Foss.

Very nice pic. A shame you didn’t mention the press report about what
happened next. http://feldhaus.co.uk/ashorttimelater.jpg (sorry)
