There is a scene in the Marx Brothers movie, “The Big Store”, where
Groucho is riding a bicycle and being chased by a detective through a
department store. Groucho crashes into a wall, the bike falls apart, and
Groucho rides away on a unicycle as the chase continues.
If anyone saves scenes like this, the movie is on Turner Classic Movies
(TMC), Thursday, December, 12 starting @ 6:30 PM Pacific Daylight Time
(3:30 PM EDT). The movie isn’t one of the great Marx Brothers movies, but
the unicycle scene is fun to watch. Actually, there are 14 different
Marx Brothers movies being broadcast this week on TMC, including all of
their great movies.
