A few months ago a unicyclist reported that he/she had seen “a couple of
unicycles the movie Vampire Hunter D.” (Japanese movie w/English subtitles,
1985). Since Tom Miller of the Unicycle Factory is not on the internet I
try to inform him of unicycle sitings for his unicycle archive. He rented
this movie, watched it several times and claims he never saw the unicycles.
He really felt ripped off and as a result wants to reimbursed his $1.99 from
the individual who made this statement (he even sent me the receipt and xerox
of the cover of the movie to prove it!). If you are guilty (unless you can
prove otherwise) please make check payable to:

The second one (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) came out recently and one of the minor villains rides something that looks like an ultimate wheel. He’s also in the movie for all of about twelve seconds. It was also originally recorded entirely in English.

Yeah, he’s on this motorized contraption. It’s kinda neat, reminded me
of those steam-driven things in Wild Wild West.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, there was a monocycle in it that got a lot more air time than the unicycle. The monocycle didn’t resemble anything from real life, though, since it was basically shaped just like a motorcycle except that it had one wheel.
Maybe it might be feasible if you can install a segway system into a one wheeled motorcycle.
