Sometimes I’ll be riding through a parking lot and I’ll see a station wagon,
and I’ll go over and do a big pedal grab on the hood or something, or try a
pedal grab up to the window. : P
I tend to do pedal grabs onto wooden benches, but not usually ones in public
places.
personaly, i would feel quite honored if i saw a sign in my area that
looked like that. thats a sure sign that i had done my duty in
convincing people that unicycling is a real sport

does any1 out there want to sell me life insurance; im trying to do a 30ft long grind bout 3 1/4 feet high with concrete steps on 1 sideand nettles on other and on a gradient of about 30%
Ps. Kris dont u get to travel to places that have like grinds rather than ur local neibour hood,
Hi,
I can land a gind on some benches and square rails at the skate park and around wher I live. I find that its easiest to grind square things because it a lot easier to slip off round things. Remeber rough ledges and concret are not very nice to your pedals and cranks so my advice is to grid metal, wood or plastic things. any way give it a go. its alot of fun and it looks vary cool if you can ride around your local skate park pulling of grinds.

I love grinding, I find that marble ledges work well along with some wax. I’ve tried a few small rails but there arent really any fair sized ones in my area.
I personally avoid grinding on anything that I will do damage too. Usually surfaces that don’t slide well are the ones you will damage the most anyways.
I suggest people use plastic pedals for most grinding.
We celebrate x-mas early and my brother just got a 6 ft long grinding rail. I haven’t been able to try grinding it yet because we’ve been snowed in but i took it downstairs to the laundry room and jumped on it and stuff tons of fun.
Stone is actualy pretty easy to grind on if you wax it up. Most places i have been to where skaters uhhhh skate they were alreaydy waxed up.
Also for people that want to learn grinding do not try to learn on hand rails. Try benches first or you will DIE!!! Just kiddin. you might fall of and hurt your self start out with benches first.
I have made a 20 foot long ledge grind (tape measured).
I would hit the ledge unwaxed till you get the balence down. I’ve had wax get too slick for me when I didn’t have the balence down.
I love marble. it slides like galss, doesn’t get damaged, and you can get 4130 to spark on it.
as for crank/ pedal durability, I have been grinding the same profile crank and primo pedal for years. Both are as true as the day I bought them. Thats saying alot, I used to weigh 245lbs
I use gusset full throttle pedals with grind plates.
I found they made quite alot of difference to grinding marble ledges.
I was thinking of a grind the other day. I can pedal/crank stall and then drop the seat out infront and catch the frame with my foot. I wonder how much harder it is whilst grinding? hmmm, Ill have to try that.
I am sure that the skate record is for a handrail or a flat rail, because their was a skater at the park who could grind the whole 20’ without much effort.
me7777,
that is called a dropkick grind. they are fun, and aren’t that hard. Dan does it in U2. You can also catch the frame in back.
