i don’t get why anyone would ressurect all of the christian threads
it just doesn’t make sense other than they want me to lose this thread in all that hullabalou… but im not retarded, and I don’t think anyone that has posted on the ><>UFC<>< threads is.
Because we are tired of it.
Right now, about half of Page 1 is Skrobo’s threads. It may not be his fault they’re all up here at once, but it’s still his fault they exist. It’s overdone. Move on. He posts enough in different areas that as long as he keeps the “Unicycle for Christ. PM me for more details.” thing in his signature, new people and/or people who are interested will see it, and PM him.
Despite what you might think, I’m not annoyed because it’s Steven, and I’m not annoyed because it about Christianity. I’m annoyed because he’s tried it so many times, and each time, it doesn’t work. The only possible reasons I can see for him to keep creating new threads is that he’s stupid (which I hiiiighly doubt), or that he’s too full of himself to quit.
Interesting. As a root vegetable, I’d have to say perhaps you’ve identified the root of the situation.

It’s called perseverance, and it’s actually an admired trait. It means you work hard at something that you truly believe in, despite what others say or do. I think skrobo should keep it up as long as he thinks it’s a worthy cause. If it bothers you that much, help kill this thread by NOT POSTING IN IT! But at least be mature and respect his wishes that you not take things off topic and start a “holy war.” If you don’t want to be in the Unicycle for Christ group, then please let us be.

I respect Steven for having as much faith as he does. I can’t do that, and I probably never will. That doesn’t change the fact that he is wayyyyy overdoing it. If he cared about promoting his cause so much, wouldn’t a better way be to just make a site for it, and have a link in his signature? Annoying everyone by making thread after thread after thread after thread isn’t the best way to spread the word of Christ.

Ohhhh, I wouldn’t speak so quickly. Actually, he is quietly amassing an ARMY OF CHRISTIAN UNICYCLISTS.
I agree, perseverance is an important quality, and I respect Skrobo for that. But the fact that the same thing seems to happen every time he starts one starts to go over to the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results). The pattern has been established as to how this particular group responds to UFC threads. It hasn’t been a response for this group to be proud of, but it has been relatively consistent.
Meanwhile, maybe some of the cause for these reactions, aside from being on an open forum where people post on a whim, is that there hasn’t seemed to be any content other than whether the person unicycles for Christ. Okay. Then what? Apparently then wait for the thread to get polluted. As someone mentioned above, the only way to protect yourselves from that pollution is to do it on our own Internet “turf.” You could do threads here… excuse me, A THREAD here to provide a link to it, and then only allow on-topic discussion on your own site. If you have anything to discuss.

christians started getting kicked out of the temples nearly 2000 years ago, and a few non-compassionate responses toward skrobo won’t discourage him.

There are always communities within communities. Every town has people who are connected by different things. The swim club isn’t criticized for segregating a town, how is this any different? I like the UFC idea, for me it adds a bit of a connection when you see another person who posts, and you know you share at least one thing in common with them besides unicycling.

I don’t think Skrobo is really trying the exact same thing and expecting different results. He is trying the same thing, and hoping that people who had more than enough opportunity to criticize his ideas on other threads will have enough respect to leave this one alone. (By the way, isn’t that the AA definition of insanity? That’s what I heard anyways…)

I also respect Skrobo for his perseverance in this matter. He has taken more than his share of abuse on this forum for his beliefs. He deserves respect as a fellow unicyclist, and as another person, even if you don’t agree with his beliefs.

Dude, you can’t call RUTABAGA, it has 8 letters/numbers. Saint Frank (Zappa) was very clear on this point, you have to call a 7 letter vegetable (OK 10 in some areas). Like PARSNIP
