ok, so here it is, I don’t mind if you want to criticise and attempt to degrade this idea. I don’t think anyone else does either… Just read this post in its entirety first PLEASE… im almost begging here…

so please, if you are going to post read this post first, and keep in mind that I am not trying to exclude, i am trying to connect.

If unicycling for Christ works for you, that should be fine with others. Enjoy!

I believe this to be exactly true. It gets taken to a ridiculous level. To me, it’s similar to saying they shouldn’t have a TCUC because I (and most other people that don’t live in the area) can’t make regular trips to Minnesota, therefore they are being exclusive based on geographic location.

I don’t see that as any different from those that say they are being exclusive based on religion. The way I see it, if you were to move to Minneapolis/St. Paul, you would be more than welcome to join the TCUC. The same way, if you become a Christian, an open invitation has been given for you to join the Unicycle for Christ club.

I think having a club like this unites unicyclists rather than segregates them. We all have lives apart from unicycling, and meeting people with multiple similar interests other than unicycling can go a long way.

It also seems people think it’s ok to harp on Christians. I would be interested to see what would happen if somebody tried to start a Muslim, Hindu, or Jewish unicycling club. It seems to me that if somebody expressed a negative attitude towards them, immediately they would be reprimanded as being intolerant. People seem to get offended “on behalf” of the people being attacked. But it’s ok to attack them if they’re Christians. What’s with the double standard?

Sorry Skrobo, I respect your right to have a Christian-based unicycle club, but having it in a thread on these forums just doesn’t seem to work.

If anybody actually wants to talk about UFC, please feel free to do do, and I personally will not be interfering - it is more on topic than all the other discussion after all! UFC brings together unicyclists with a common interest, which seems like a fun idea.

Geez…I was skimming through some of the UFC stuff, and it really did get way out of hand…I really regret taking part in that…I’m pretty sure a lot of people dislike/disliked me because of it.

this is for the people who are serious, not seriously kidding

unicycling for Christ is easy.
the beauty of it, is that you do it how you please, feel free to express how you unicycle for christ in whatever way you feel is reasonable; im not saying jump up and down on your neighbors car naked, and drunk,but I am saying have fun, enjoy riding, and just remember that God is awesome. That is all it takes

so if you want to join, drop a message here or PM me, and I will send you a PM… maybe … I think i said what I needed to…

because the majority of the religion practicing unicyclists are christian, and the idea stemmed from this.

Why would you ask that here? I may be wrong, but i would assume th only people who are going to read this are Christians, or anti-organized-religionists who want to keep this group from forming.

its a little too late for the anti people to put this down, it has around 40 members. I am sure that there are others who want to join, but don’t because they are afraid of being ripped on by the anti ><>UFC<>< people

It only segregates if people decide to hate us for being proud of our beleifs. If i don’t want to be a boy scout, it’s not segregation if i don’t join. If a person wants to Unicycle for Christ, and we tried to tell them they couldn’t because they were short, fat, black, white, man, woman, that would be segregation.

I did read the first post. I’m not trying to start the whole debate I’ve seen it before. I was just curious…I just don’t think you can call it “uniting” unicyclists when its excluding unicyclists. But i’m sorry for being off topic i’ll leave this post alone i promise.

Reminds me of that old saying: “There are only two types of people in this world…those that think there are only two types of people in this world, and those who know better.”

Why would you assume that anyone reading this thread has to be either Christian or anti-organized-religionists? A or B…us or them. Pro Choice or Pro Death, Blue State or Red State. Free your mind…

Without killing a brain cell, I can think of at least four other types that might be reading (or posting) in this thread.

1. Christian sympathizers who nevertheless wish the Christians would get over their need to do everything “for Christ” and then talk about it in public.

2. Insomniacs who hold strong religious beliefs but see them as deeply personal, not for sharing, and are therefore mystified by the need for threads such as this.

3. A tired unicyclist heading into weekend after a long week of work, who can’t resist chiming in after a couple of bourbons.

4. A combination of all the above.
