unicycle dreams

Last night I had the strangest dream…

I was at a unicycle meet and I was playing uni hockey (on my Muni). The
surface of the court we were on was highly polished wood and if I rode fast
then leant back I found that I could slowly pedal backwards as the wheel
(and me) kept sliding forwards. It was the unicycling equivalent of moon
walking. It was very cool.

After this I discovered that I could also jump over things with little
effort, not even having to slow down. I just rode fast and when something
was in the way I did a little pre-jump bounce and then sailed easily over
the obstacle.

Then came the stairs - I was invincible.

After this I went to my tent, crawled inside and went to sleep.

Then I woke up - for real.

I have consulted my old moores almanac and this dream is said to signify a
windfall in your future. Also a dark haired man will cross your path and
make sweet sweet love to you.

Spooky huh?

Hey man, I was there too!

Just kidding. Sounds like a cool dream, though.

Moonwalking unicycle dreams mean a windfall? Cool…

I had a dream once where I was riding around in the building at work. It was
one of my very vivid and realistic dreams, complete with colors and sounds, and
almost with smells. One of those where I wake up and expect to be in the place
where the dream occurred.

Speaking of Unicycle dreams… hehe I need to order some T-shirts to wear around. I’ve got a demonstration speech Monday in my speech class in which I’m going to show “how to ride a unicycle”. Speech is suppose to be 6-8 minutes long.

when i first started riding i used to have dreams about one foot riding, which i can now do (not very well thought)

so dreams can come true after all,

however your moon walking skill might involve a few laws of physics changing overnight,

the jumps and stairs aren’t out of the question.

just like the vivid gliding dreams that i keep having.

perhaps there should be a new skill level to take account of skills that are only possible in dreams?
level 12?
of course there may be problems with testing… anyone got any ideas

Perhaps if I give him all of the money from my windfall he will go away and
leave me in peace (unicycle saddles are uncomfortable enough without the
help of dark haired strangers).

Wayne.

Every so often I dream about riding a unicycle with a freewheel. At least I think I do, I could have just dreamt it.

Last night it was my 20" Ringmaster. The dream started with a parade. I had been planning to ride with several other unicyclists, but at the last minute decided not to ride. Then, after watching the others ride past, I decided to ride after all. I remembered that I’d left my unicycle laying around somewhere, so I sprinted back to where I’d left it and was relieved to find it still there.

I mounted and started riding round some lovely clear suburban roads (the parade was now forgotten about). I remembered that my unicycle had a freewheel and started freewheeling. Before long I came to a road that went down. And down. And down. I was going too fast to dismount safely and was desperately looking around for somewhere to turn off and go uphill. All the turnings to my left went down more steeply than the road I was on. All the turnings to my right went uphill but involved turning at least 120 degrees.

I was somehow able to look down at my computer and see that my speed was fluctuating between 37-39mph. When I finally came to a short uphill section and was able to dismount, the computer showed that I had reached 42mph.

And that wasn’t even my first unicycle dream of the night. Earlier I’d had one where I had turned up for an event (possibly a hockey tournament, but I can’t remember for sure) and it turned out that Roger had organised a night-time Coker muni ride instead. As luck would have it I happened to have my Coker with me, but I couldn’t find any lights.

Whenever I dream about unicycling it’s on a coasting uni, and I can do all kinds of cool jumps without slowing down. Which is weird because I never ride bikes and can’t ride a coasting unicycle, so you’d think my subconscious would be thoroughly used to direct drive.

Those dreams are the god damn best;)

I have unicycling dreams all the time, not sure what that says about my personality, but hey they are fun!

Control your dreams with Lucid Dreaming

My unicycle dreams alway involve other people unicycling and me not being able to due to lack of unicycle or having a broken one. then it ends with me fixing or getting a unicycle and i wake up, no riding involved.

is this trying to tell me something?

Funny I have the same kind of dreams. My friends start learning to ride and start doing trials but my trials broke and my kh is in the mail. So I’m sitting around in my dream waiting and when the ups man comes up and hands me the package I hear “max get your ass outta bed!”

i have had freewheeling dreams. damn good

I dream of riding my Coker easily trough forests and tough tracks, I just slide along like on a magic carpet.
those dreams have replaced my usual skiing dreams.
but it’s only a dream :o

mmm hidden meaning. we are both waiting on a new KH because our old trials are broken… uncanny ::slight_smile:

(see what i did there, two sets of eyes)

hey i am going to a some training days with the guy who first started this thread. it is at the end of the month. wow i will be meeting someone else who has posted on unicyclist.com

My wife has had two dreams, of her riding a uicycle in the last week. Me, I don’t dream about unicycling.

She doesn’t unicycle!

TIS A SIGN!

I dreamed that I could unispin and wheel walk, and the next day I did both. Weird.
