Unicycle.com sucks. Their prices are ridiculous and they never get your order right.
were are you from?? cuz thave never had bad service at www.municycle.ca
United States
Their prices may seem to have a larger mark up, but as far as service goes it has always been impeccable. I’ve visited their store front in Marietta and the people there were very helpful and knowledgeable. Then again there is always AEbike.
So you wanna post a little bit more info than that general 1st post? As far as pricing goes, if you do not like there prices then why did you order from them anyhow? Appearantly the price was not enough to keep you away?
As for messing up orders…of about 10-15 orders I’ve placed with uni.com over the past 6+ years they have only messed up one order and they were quick to resolve it.
Jim - You cannot make a comment like that with no explanation, just a generalisation that they are rubbish because you’re not 100% happy, especially as a first post on here, that is ridiculous. Have you searched for the other threads like this? There are people who have problems, this is why the company has a customer service section and an email and phone number so that you can discuss a solution to your problem. Everyone is human and makes mistakes, so call them, sort it all out and you will be happy and not need to rant on here about your issues. I’m sure that over 95% of their customers are very happy, and the company serves the world well, so don’t try to put people off using this company when they are so helpfull to everyone.
Please don’t take offence from my rant, but do think carefully and rationalise your thoughts before posting such a generalised negative opinion.
well i ordered from them because everyone in the fora said too and i was a begginer and didnt know about othere places. I think they suck because evertime ive ordered from them, 3 times or so, they have screwed up my order. They were prompt in fixing the problem but they still messed it up in the first place. Another reason I think they have terrible service is that they have changed 2 of my orders without asking me. One time they didnt have the color seat i ordered so they sent a different one instead of contacting me.
What do you mean by “ridiculous”? What other companies did you shop to make your price comparison? What items did you compare?
Also, if they fixed your problems how is it that they “never” get your order right?
I really like unicycle.com.
They’ve always got my orders right.
They have a well organized website.
They have a great selection.
Their prices aren’t the best, but their not that bad.
What else do you want?
If you would have looked at my previous post you would have seen that i did
Well you seem to be the only one I’ve seen that’s made a hateful post towards UDC.
Personally, I wouldn’t shop anywhere else unless I was getting a product they don’t have (like a try-all).
They have great staff, a great inventory, good prices, and will fix any problems you come across.
How do they have good prices when there are other websites where you can get stuff for sometimes hundred dollars less
Unicycle Dot Com is great. They have the best customer service I have ever experienced with any company. Josh and the rest over at UDC have been more than willing to help me on the phone with all the numerous questions I have had. Very nice people, great company, provide an excellent service.
If you have had problems with your order or wish to complain about something, you should give them a call or send them an email or fill out the customer service form.
This is not the right way to deal with whatever issues you have with UDC.
No company is perfect. Mistakes are made. My experience with UDC (UK) is that every effort is made to put things right courteously and quickly. UDC did not get where they are today by deliberately providing bad service at inflated prices.
People like UDC are running a business. Equipment for such a minority sport is bound to be expensive. All the research and development costs have to be spread over a relatively small number of sales (compared, say, to bikes) and production runs will be small too.
Mail order businesses need to keep plenty of stock in so they can respond to orders as quickly as possible. That is all money tied up, and that costs in terms of interest.
Generally, places like UDC are run by enthusiasts.
Without places like UDC there would be no hobby of unicycling as we know it.
I had to go to great trouble to find my first unicycle 21 years ago. I had a choice of exactly three models in two wheel sizes. Steel cottered cranks, steel rims, awful seats, heavy lugged steel frames.
Today, via places like UDC I can get a unicycle in any size from 12" to 36" (or even bigger) within days, with a choice of alloy cotterless cranks, or splined, a range of frames including alluminium and carbon fibre, and a selection of high-tech comfy seats.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
If you have a grievance with UDC the proper way is to deal directly with them. If you can’t sort it out then any post here should be balanced, factual and give fair details. Don’t just slag them off with vague allegations.
Everything you write in this forum is public, and if you write something untrue or inaccurate which might damage a business’s reputation, you could be liable for libel damages.
Now calm down, deep breath and try to sort out your problems in the proper way.
Im complaining here beacuse i dont want a new unicyclist to come here and think that unicycle.com is the only place to get unicycles when there are better cheaper places to buy from.
Jim,
Sorry if you’ve had a bad experience with UDC. I’ve always found them very efficient but others have covered that.
I thought there was a certain irony that just below your last post was a list of Unicycles available on Ebay…
Gary
Where?
In the USA, Kris Holm products are now carried by QBP (Quality Bike Parts) which is the biggest bicycle product distributor for bikes shops. Almost every bike shop has an account with them. So a local bike shop would likely order for a lower price to do local business. Additionally quite a few dotCom shops in the US already sell the KH uni’s for a good deal less than MSRP which is what UDC sells them for.
Unicycle.com has been INCREDIBLY beneficial to the development of unicycling equipment. Lots of equipment you can ONLY get from them or one of their downstream vendors.
Their prices are fair. They’re not a bottom-dollar discount vendor, but it’s a little naive to expect everyone to have razor thin margins. Some people are in business to make money.
In my experience, they sometimes make mistakes with orders, but they ALWAYS make good.
Of course, if you want a perfect order everytime at a fair price, you should contact Darren Bedford. He’s someone who goes above and beyond.
