UNICYCLE CLUBS and info

Hey guys.

I’m in the process of starting a unicycle club and as I’ve been looking for people who might be interested, I noticed that there are a lot of requests for a forum that lists clubs and interested riders.

SOOOO, I thought I might request your help and get everyone who knows of a club in their area to post it here. Then we all have one place to search instead of wading through all the threads. Please don’t post comments that aren’t related to clubs or people who are interested – this will just make it harder for people to find the info they’re looking for. You can use PMs to give out contact information and such.

Troopizi and Gold Country Unicyclists

Troopizi is a very informal group meeting Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm at Olive Ranch Elementary School (parking lot). John Hooten is in charge. The group rides in a few parades annually, and some members may go to NAUCC and Unicon.

Gold Country Unicyclists is a non-active group based around Sacramento and under the non-leadership of John Foss. We get together for group rides on trails from time to time, and in the future we may be a club again…

I think John Childs has already started to make a list of Unicycle clubs on unicyclist.com

however…

Yes, you’re right – there is a page with links to websites. However, there are lots of small local unicycle clubs that don’t have websites (mine included) and I thought it might be nice to have those listed, as well. Also, anyone can post here whereas it seems that only John can post there.

Any registered user can add links to the links database here. It’s not just me. If someone knows of a link to a unicycle club that is not listed there they can add it.

Any yes, that links list is limited to clubs that have a web presence and clubs that I have been able to find on the web. It is by no means a complete list.

There are schools in the Seattle area that teach unicycling as part of their PE program. Those clubs are not listed because they don’t have a web presence and I don’t even know of all the area schools that have a unicycling program.

Thank you, John, for clearing that up. I’m still not seeing where I can add a link – that’s just my newbie status rearing its ugly head; please PM me and let me know how. I don’t think this thread is going to get any more clubs added anyway since we’ve been talking about this for so long. My goal was to have a thread where clubs without websites can get the word out. Oh well… maybe someone else will have better luck.

what about cary or raleigh area?

If you go to one of the categories (like US clubs) you should see an “Add Link” option appear on the third dark blue bar.

This thread is less than 12 hours old. Give it time. I’m sure you’ll get some more clubs mentioned.

Good idea! Maybe in this thread we can have it where people post the info about their club and then John Childs (thanks John!) can then link to that specific post in the links section on unicyclist.com for those clubs that don’t have a website.

Thats a great idea!
