unicycle brand comparison

Is there a place on the web that has a collection of opinions on which brand of
unicycle is best?

No, but it would be fun to start one, as an open forum. This could then be a
place to point the unicycle manufacturers, so they’ll understand where their
products are in riders’ opinions.

There is the Unicycle Models Page:
http://www.unicycling.org/unicycling/Unidb/qdesc/models.html, but it’s a very
incomplete listing of what’s on the market, especially today.

But “best” is a big word, so it would have to be broken down into many different
types and ranges of riding. And I’m sure the opinions will fly!

Here are some potential categories:

MUNI: kids entry level intermediate hardcore: hardcore with small hills hardcore
with big hills hardcore on impossible stuff/Trials

ARTISTIC: kids entry level intermediate advanced/professional performer

STREET: kids entry level commuting beater

HOCKEY/BASKETBALL: kids entry level intermediate advanced/heavy duty

TRACK: kids entry level intermediate advanced

ALL AROUND/GENERAL USE: kids beginner intermediate best of everything

GIRAFFE: kids low end “high” end

                               BIG WHEEL:
                                low end
                                high end

How about some votes? Better than votes, list the models you actually have
experience with, and rank them in order of your preference.

I agree. But you see, what am I supposed to do when I step out into my garage
and I can’t decide?

Or more importantly (and usefully to the world community in general), how does a
newbie know what to choose, without getting stuck with a lemon (or Troxel)? An
opinion poll like this could be a very valuable resource, and make it easier for
people to get into unicycling. It will provide information no bike shop can
(what do they know besides the one or two brands they happen to have?),
information that’s not available anywhere else. The more of us participate, the
more useful and unbiased it will be.

Come to think of it, we should probably divide the responses by country or at
least continent, so people don’t go wishing for a brand they can’t necessarily
get where they live.

I think Brian Berlin said he could set up an online Stats site, which sounds
like it might be easier and more useful. Brian?

Monday is an awful way to spend 1/7th of your life.

Re: unicycle brand comparison

I’ll try to put together a live survey page in the next couple of days to gather
opinions on the subject. but I already know the answer. The BEST unicycle in the
whole world is the one you ride and enjoy the most. Brian Berlin Austin, TX

It’s all rock and roll to me. Either way is fine. I was just offering. Bb

If you don't mind, I'll take Brian's idea, and do it that way.
Still If you any other categorys, please e-mail them to me so they
can be included. I will post the page that has all the stuff on it
    in about a week.
