is there a unicycling box or something, y’know like a cricket box, that you can wear to save yourself the pain of landing knackers-on. (the guy’s will know)
Or do unicyclists just never have kids?

Wear snug fitting stretchy bicycling shorts. The black skin tight kind. You can wear loose shorts over the bike shorts, but just make sure you have bike shorts underneath. The bike shorts will keep things in place so you don’t sit on what you don’t want to sit on.
You can go for padded or non-padded cycling shorts. Find what works best for you. The non-padded shorts are generally designed for runners and triathletes while the padded ones are designed for bicyclists.
cheers,
I won’t bother with my plans for a steel pair of boxers now
