UNICON VIII

You should still be on time. So far, only people outside Europe has shown
interest. The IUF really prefers to hold it on Europe.

The IUF can run the technical aspects of the artistic and the Racing events.

You are responsible for the housing, the facilities, and the administration of
the event.

You probably will assemble a group of talent beyond your wildest dreams. Riders
from the USA, and Canada. Puerto Rico, Japan, China, Israel, Australia, maybe
New Zealand and every country in Europe.

Peter, I am very, very glad to hear that you are considering hoisting UNICON
VIII. No one else is at that stage, though Ken Fuchs has offered to stage it as
a last resort. But and we all know that it is indeed high time to hold it in
Europe, and I strongly urge you to go full steam ahead.

The fiel is ALL CRLEAR.

John Foss and I and others have written quite a bit about UNICON 8. Rather than
risk being acused of polluting cyberspace, I’ll send it to you privately if you
can’t find it in your archives. At any rate, please rest assured that you will
get all the suppoprt we can provide.

Wow! Ken, I was very impressed with your offer to help host UNICON VIII. Not a
light decision. Nevertheless, if Peter can organize it in the UK, that is much
more desirable, for reasons that we have already discussed.

I am very much lookning forward to a UNICON in the UK. I am hoping that Tim
Sheppard (im@lilliput-p.win-uk.net), whom I have nominated for IUF director,
will join Peter, and that the many other unicyclists in the UK will do their
best to help.

I have much experience with UNICONs. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions
or request information. I’ll try to put together a package of information for
you, as well as send you the unicycling database.

Stay on top, Jack Halpern, IUF Vice President

P.S. UNICON VIII news is important news to all unicyclists. I hope that someone
posts it in the news group. I am not yet set up with my newsreader…Ken
or Beirne, could you please ensure that all UNICON VIII stuff gets to the
newsgroup? Also, please save all the articles…

Re: Unicon VIII

Peter In your message concerning Unicon VIII, you say the probable site
will be Middlesex University. This is great news and I hope to make it to
the event. However, I’ve looked in my London A-Z and cannot find it! Please
could you be a little more specific as to location.

 thanks

 Trev.

I was trying not to be too specific as I did not want anyone to get confused if
the venue has to change in the future, but, seeing as you forced me into it, I
will tell you that we have applied for use of the Trent Park campus of Middlesex
University (marked as Middlesex Polytechnic on old maps). The campus is located
in the middle of Trent Park, a park of mixed grassland and woods, just north of
Oakwood tube station (Piccadilly line).
