Snoqualmie is pronounced: Snow - Qual - Me

The Snoqualmie Valley is formed by the Snoqualmie River. The Snoqualmie
River has three forks (North, Middle and South) here in the upper part of
the Valley. The Valley runs from the eastern side of the greater Seattle
metropolitan area (Issaquah, to be exact) up into the Cascade Mountain
Range. The very top of the Valley is known as Snoqualmie Pass. Snoqualmie
Pass is home to the Summit Hiking / Biking Center and The Summit at
Snoqualmie (a very large ski area - the largest night skiing operation in
the world). This area will host the MUni venues.

For completeness sake and the benefit of speakers of non-US-English (who
pronounce things funny sometimes), according to the American Heritage
Dictionary, the accent is on the second syllable:

snow QUAL me

After you offer the accurate pronounciation as given by Tom Daniels, you
might want to add "that cool unicycling place east of the Seattle
metropolitan area. Seattle is a very cool place as well, and should make a
great location for a summer 2002 vacation!

I also never heard of the Snoqualmie Valley until a unicycle convention
was proposed there, and I live a lot closer…
