Uni-x geeks on unicycles. That's nice!

I know this a little off topic, but I seem to see a common thread among many Unicycle enthusiasts- there are a lot of Linux powered Uni web sites on the web.

So… are a bunch of you Unifolk Linux/Unix geeks, or is it just my imagination? I am a FreeBSD Unix freak myself and have been for quite a few years.

This newsgroup is the first really cohesive non computer related newsgroup I have ever seen and reminds me quite a lot of the open source community- which I mean as a great compliment to everyone!

Thank you all for sharing your experiences with myself and others.

I’m a bit of a slackware linux uni-geek, but I’m mostly a C programmer uni-geek. I program stuff. Stuff like this… www.flippet.net

The unicycling game is still swilling around in my head…

Well, there’s one here. I’m only learning unicycling, but I’ve been
hacking Unix in its many forms since 1986. Currently mostly Linux and
OpenBSD. You’re right, this is a very friendly and welcoming
newsgroup, and the same attitude seems to prevail among unicyclists in
general. None of the bloody feuds and bitter schisms I’ve seen in
computer-related groups.

Linux & Unix rock. I have no installations right now but I have a (free)
unix shell account with sdf.lonestar.org. I use it to host my portion of the
web and for various other unixy things.

HPUX, Linux and Unicos (soon NEC S-UX) at work. Linux at home.

Not enough variants for me to be called a Linux/Unix geek really.

I’m a FreeBSD weenie.

FreeBSD, SuSE, RedHat (might be the last RedHat I had since they don’t wish to be compatible with other Linux flavours anymore. Is this a typical American spirit?) and… Palm, since unicyclists doesn’t bother doing weird or ridiculous things, have a look at http://www.UNIXCYCLE.com/spacecontrol.php
