We got our first REAL snow over here in PA and i got out the uni for the better part of 4 hours friday (we got an early dismissal right after lunch ) and after the driveway was shoveled i had some pretty nice piles of soft, powdery snow. Until this point i have not really tried uni spins for fear of mangling mybody on the gravel, but with the snow to impact my falls i started just going for it. The first few times went badly (to say the least), but i just threw my weight so i would fall in the wonderful glorious snow. I have not landed any spins yet, but i am amazingly closer than i ever would have been without the help of the snow…
err umm…
the title of this thread should be ‘uni spins in the snow’… was not paying close enough attention i suppose… sorry for that.
Cool
It took me ages to learn to unispin, as i was scared of the ground! But with some sixsixone protection, my fear faded, and I learnt!
It is a cool trick!
Joe,
cookie face…sorry-Mr. cookie face, where in PA is reinhart or however you spell that town(i cant see avatars or locations in the reply page). i live in philly.
I’m not scared of the ground, I’m scared of these huge great metal spikey things spinning round in circles, ready to gouge chunks out of my feeble little legs…
Phil
oops
sorry that was me posting on shadowuni. i am using his comp and forgot to sign him out. sorry nick. also its reinhold…or something. ah wells later.
Re: err umm…
How’s that look?
In the snow or grass it’s always easier to learn new tricks like that. I learned a jump mount in the grass, and a suicide mount in the snow. Now I’m going for the unispin…
I’ve ALMOST got it down… i got the 180 part and my feet on the pedals, i just can’t stick it and ride away… so close and yet so far… plus the snow now has a layer of ice on, but the fear has gone so no matter.
Reinholds is right outside of Reading, just over an hour or so from Philly… not suprised in the least you have never heard of it …
thank you very much, i don’t feel quite as foolish anymore.
hopefully i can pull off the unispin soon, and hopefully my pedals will survive until after the holidays when i can get new ones… rest assured i’ll let it be known when i am sucessful
