I just sent you a PM with some specific information.
In case there are other riders lurking in the area, I’m game to meet up for some muni at Fountainhead Regional Park or some road riding on a 36er/equivalent if interested.
Most likely i will be in Richmond from September 2014 to October 2015.
I know it´s a long time till then, but maybe we could ride a few trails together then. Would be fun to see how much our riding styles differ as we live in totally different parts of the world.

I don’t live in VA, but I do know that bike shops usually have one or two unis on display. Or you can order one online.

If you’re into muni, swing by central/western VA. There are also a few of us in the Lynchburg/Roanoke area. There are lots of rideable places including -
Danville (Anglers Ridge)
Charlottesville (Walnut Creek)
Lynchburg (Candlers)
Roanoke (Carvins Cove)
Bedford (Falling Creek)
The best place to start looking for trails is a MTB trail review site like http://www.singletracks.com.
If you want to experience dodging people and cars, give DC a shot. It’s bike friendly and the crosswalk timers are ubiquitous.
In addition, I believe there were muni meet ups in Douthat (last year) and Asheville (this year).

I know this is an older thread but I thought I would give it a try. I am a new rider and wonder if there are any rides or uni gatherings in VA. I am in Williamsburg, VA. I may go up to the NYC Uni Fest at the end of August but it would be great to find some riding more locally.
