Uni Purchase

Well as of five minutes ago, I pushed the order button on unicyclesource.com
Now the waiting period begins  I’m excited even though I won’t be able to take
it outside of the house probably for three months (I’m not into impregnating my
tire with nails sorry).

I’m excited

I ordered a unicycle and some other stuff from them over the weekend and they
promised shipment on Monday, I received all of it on Wednesday. I am in mid
Missouri and it came from Georgia. UPS was very fast. Like you, I can’t use
it right away, I’ve got the flu. I get it everytime I get a flu shot. When
will I learn.

Sounds like you’re a new rider. If so, there’s a lot of the initial learning
that can be done indoors, provided you have a reasonably uni friendly
environment. I’ve read about people practicing in their basements and garages.
Sounds like a good start.

I appologize for sending you more packets than you want, but…

Are you subscribed to a mailing list or subscribed to a newsgroup? We can help
you end this talk of one-wheel joys if you give us some um feedback as to what
program you’re using when you get these messages.

Well I figgured A) it’s indoors. No ridding in -35c for me thank you. B) there’s
enough room to practice moving around. C) the floor is carpeted so if I don’t
manage to catch the uni on it’s way to the ground, it’s padded a little bit more
than if say it was asphalt.

I keep visualizing myself just hopping on without any problem. I keep having
riding dreams too…

I’m in no rush to get my stuff (well ok, maybe a wee bit). This is my first time
ordering something through UPS and so far I am very impressed! I chose UPS over
US Postal Services mainly for the on-line tracking at no extra charge. I must
say it’s pretty neat, right now my uni is en-route to the UPS Air Hub in SC.
Very handy, I can keep my anticipation at bay AND know when I should be home to
pick it up

Hope your flu goes away soon!

The funny part is that the fellow I talked to when I made the order said it
would be about 10 days or more due to UPS being very busy with Christmas
deliveries. I was surprised when the tracking site said expected delivery on
Wednesday, just 2 days from shipping. And they did deliver on time. Plus it was
only sent regular ground.

Of course you are in a rush, admit it. Everybody is. I know I was, and I knew I
wasn’t feeling up using yet. So far I have it out of the box and everything
looks OK, but I haven’t installed the seat and post yet, but I did screw the
pedals in the cranks. I have to air up the tire too.

I am improving some, but still feeling poor. I would have no balance at all, so
no use trying the uni. I am getting anxious to feel good enough to try it
though. It sure looks a lot bigger than my 20" uni. It is going to be given to
my grand daughter for Christmas. She is very small, I had to cut the seat post
off to make it fit her, almost the limit down.

I got confused, at one point it said my uni was in South Carolina and then about
two hours later it was in a brokerage in Winterpeg MB. This apperantly wasn’t
true as checking in later it was back in SC and being routed to IL. I guess UPS
had the brains to get it cleared through customs before it enters the country.
At any rate, it’s fun to watch where it’s going to but I’m getting anxious about
it’s arrival.

sob it’s true! it’s true!

My plan is to assemble it, figgure out how to mount and idle it and then place
it under the Christmas tree with a little bow on it for me while my parents are
asleep Christmas day.

Maybe you should try it at least once just so you know how it feels.

That’s very nice of you, of course when she grows you’ll most likely need to get
a bigger seat post
