Uni Persuasion Help

OK- I need some help.

I currently have a 2 year-old 24" tiwanese uni (the one I learned on). I “need”
a 28" Semcycle XL, and I’m looking for a way to convince my wife of that “need”,
as She has no interest at all in unicycling.

Since we have and “old fashioned” marriage-with joint bank accounts, and an
agreement to not spend over $50 without at least running it past the other
person if possible- Can you guys help me with creative reasons to upgrade Uni’s?

Thanks Hugh Allison

PS- take into account that I am a musician, too. I “need” certain guitar related
items from time to time, too. (Boy, I didn’t realize how “needy” I am!! <g>)

How about if you “lose” the first one (store it at a friend’s house), or if it
“wears out” or “falls apart” (not hard to arrange on the cheaper unis).

These solutions are tossed out in a spirit of fun, though. Don’t want to turn
need of a unicycle into a marriage problem…

RE: Uni Persuasion Help

Well’, how about a house for starters? She says I’d be happy living in a
cardboard box.

She’s right, especially if it had a 28" uni in it!

Thanks Hugh

But you do need a 20"! How can you possibly do the same spins & jumps on a
Coker?

Is there anything she really wants but you think she really needs. I think a
compromise could be worked out. joel

Re: Uni Persuasion Help

I, too am learning to ride. I am learning on my husband’s “junk” unicycle. After
I can ride without falling every three feet, which is about now, he has agreed
to buy me a NICE unicycle. Why? Because they are SO much better. He has three
“good” unicycles, so I deserve one too!!! Unicyclying is really hard to expain
to someone who has never tried, and therefore, can not appreciate it. My feeling
is, after learning to ride the darn thing, I DESERVE a good one!!!

Re: Uni Persuasion Help

Salut,

there was a very nice posting by someone last week about “how to get a
collection of unicycles if your partner doesn’t want it”. Maybe you can find it
in DejaNews (http://www.dejanews.com). Key words will be “collection”,
“unicycle”, “McManus”

I needed a coker, Paul thought I wanted a coker. I worked the overtime, I uni to
work, I ordered a coker last week.

Now I want a 20 inch… does any one want to swap a good hockey/ chelidh 20 inch
for a good 24 inch sem cycle with muni adaptations. In the UK or coming to BMW /
Euro cycle / BUC… I’m interested in exchange as I don’t think paul will accept
I need this one too.

John, I can’t bunny hop, lollipop or reliably ride backwards.I don’t wheel walk,
glide or coast, my wheel walking was only learnt last week. What I do is stay on
except up hills when I may have to get off and walk. I also play hockey and have
just discovered I love uni cheldih dancing.

The coker will get me to work quicker, 10 min on the 24 I hope to reduce that to
5 with the big one.

She might say all these things that she cannot do, but she is one mean Muni
rider, one of the best.

I think you just blew your rationale for buying a 20"!

Unless you want to learn all those things; they’re much harder on a Coker
(except maybe the lollipop).

I’ll vouch for Sarah, she definitely needs a 20" uni, I await the next dance.

I’ll book the disco. We could have a barn dance at the BMW  We could also
have indoor MUNI hockey, if nobody minds a concrete floor and dodging farm
equipment!
