UK unicon group

Hi There has been a bit of a flury of interest about going to Unicon from
the Uk. So here are a few answers to questions that I’ve been asked and
others might be asking.

The UK unicycle team consistes of any Uk riders who go to Unicon, no
ability level needed , no try outs nothing but enthusiam needed.

Roger Davis (roger@unicycle.uk.com) has agreed to be UK team co-ordinator
again , he did this for the Uniconx trip last year.

Rocket will be UK Hockey captain again (rocket@jbmarshl.demon.co.uk) , we
will have as many hockey teams as we can raise players for.

Basketball, no team captain as yet, want to offer?

Accomadation, this one is still un-sure. There is not a lot of Hotel
accomadation in the area ( we are told by The Unicon organisers on their
web page). Weather the UK team stay together or independantly is something
to be discussed by those interested in going. Personaly I’ve made some
postal enquires and am still waiting for replies from all but the rather
pricey end of the market. The Unicon 11 team are making enquires about
local dorm type accomadation ( cheap) but I’m told this is in short supply
in that area and the european custom of indoor camping in school rooms is
out of the question.

At this stage Uk riders interested in going to Unicon could let
Roger know that they are interested. Have a read of the Unicon11 web
page http://www.unicycling.org/iuf/unicon11/ and get saving up for
the air fare.

An additional question that I am sure is on the minds of those thinking of
joining the UK unicycle team is “Do they have good beer over there?”.

Yes, we do! We have some great local microbreweries that brew some of my
favorite beers. There are a few good pubs, breweries and drinking
establishments in the Snoqualmie area. One of my favorites is the Rogue
Brewery Issaquah Brewhouse in Issaquah (http://www.rogue.com/) and just
down the highway from North Bend. I frequently stop by the Issaquah
Brewhouse after riding some of my favorite muni trails in the area. There
are several establishments in North Bend and Snoqualmie that serve the
local Northwest beer. If we do the Torchlight Parade in downtown Seattle
there will be many outstanding microbreweries and pubs to choose from
while in Seattle. So make plans for UNICON and enjoy the beer.

BTW, Issaquah is where the track will be, and the three hotels there will
probably be the main places for UNICON attendees to stay.
