UDC coker wheel vs. Strongest Coker wheel

What is the difference between the upgraded coker wheel at UDC http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=568 and the Strongest Coker wheel in the world http://www.unicyclist.com/gallery/?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=80777 ? Other than the grand sounding name is the SCWitW really that much stronger?
I think they’re both built on airfoil rims and other than the possibly stronger hub is the wheel built that much better than the wheel built by kovachiwheels (www.KovachiWheels.com)? It looks like they do some serious (and I’m jusging that on price only) wheelbuilding there.

Im by no means a pro but ive heard that the Stockton wheelbuild(Worlds strongest coker wheel) is the best out there.

Dave’s wheels are made with more tension on the spokes than normal, have washers under the spokes (to reduced stress), stainless steel spokes, and are trued and tensioned several times (over a period of several days) so the spokes are more consistent than normal - and stay that way. There are, I believe, other things about U-Turns wheels that a normal business can’t afford to do, that’s why his are more expensive and are guaranteed.

It’s like having a violin, if you want it serviced you can take it to any instrument shop but if you have a Stradivarius you take it to the best person you can find.

I have one of Dave’s wheelsets. It’s so stiff that one can imagine that you’re riding on a steel disk when you make turns. No twisting, bending, or other anomolies associated with riding stress. (Not that the Airfoil will do that. I’ve never rode a uni with one) But at 235 lbs strength is very important to me and I didn’t want to have to go out and buy a second wheelset because I taco’ed or wasn’t happy with something less. In line with the violin comment, consider it a Stocktovarius. I feel that my money was well invested.

They will also come with the 29’er tube and SS spokes for the lightest coker wheel you’re likely to come across. I’ve got one on order, and knowing that if I get tempted to go do the MUni on my coker it’ll handle it no problem is good

Just a quite note to comment that the weights of the wheels will be the same as the 14g option on the UDC wheel are also stainless.
