tyre pressure

i have a 2.5 x 20 inch tyre and was wonderin what the ideal pressure is for trials? would i need to lower it for big drops?

trials pressure

Big drops/gaps require a higher pressure so you don’t bottom out your tyre and hammer the rim through you’re tube.

Although, softer tyre pressure means it’s easier to learn to hop, and a cooshier feel.

You’ll know when it’s time to increase the tire pressure as you start to bottom out the tire hopping and doing stuff.

Perth is right. I try to find a happy medium where I don’t bottom out my rim or have the tye fold to the side easily, but soft enough to hop comfortably with. I just pump the tyre up fairly hard and play around then let a bit of air out and so on and so forth until you’re happy. I call it trials and error! You see what I did there?! Ha ha!

yip i see wot u have done there, how droll. So would u class 40psi as soft or hard then?

Force over area means that the pressure for one size tire is different fro another. Example: I have a 24 inch tire and it says 40 psi reccomended. Your 20 may say something else, and his 29 will be much higher.

Generally, tyre pressure has more to do with tyre width than with tyre
(+wheel) diameter. Wider tyres allow lower pressures.
