Twin City Unicycle Club - Over 200 members

On Sunday, April 2, 200, the Twin City Unicycle Club broke the 200-member mark.
This is an amazing number that I didn’t think was possible to attain. As far as
I know, there is no other unicycling club that is this big.

So, to celebrate breaking the 200 barrier, we are throwing a party on Saturday,
June 17. All past, present, and future members of TCUC are welcome to attend.
Actually, anybody related to the unicycling world is welcome to share in the
festivities. Just make sure you let me know so we have enough food.

By most standards, TCUC is one of the more successful unicycle clubs. Over the
years it has helped its riders win many world titles and an even greater number
of national titles. There are many reasons why the club has been able to grow.
Here are some of the reasons why I think we have

  • Dedicated Officers (Adults as well as teens have an equal say in how the club
is run. The average skill level of the officer crew is just about level 6)
  • Amazing, consistent newsletter
  • Highly skilled riders (TCUC currently has 24 riders who are Level 7 skill
    level or greater)
  • Six practices a week during the school year for a total of 21 possible
practice hours (While Sunday there is no practice, there is still some of who
    go on rides)
  • We participate in over 25 parades a year (parades are one of the better ways
to increase the skill level of riders)
  • Performance Group for the higher skilled riders (gives a reason for high level
    riders to keep practicing)

Our membership has grown even further since we broke 200 on April 2. The
membership count is now at 230!

If you are in the area and are interested in helping us celebrate this
accomplishment, let me know and I’ll send you directions.

-Andy

Congratulations! Your club should serve as a model for how to run unicycle
clubs. Keep up the great work.

I think tha the Adachi club in Japan (run by Masanori Wakai) has a very large
number of members. Would you like me to find out what the largest club in Japan
is? It could be interesting to compare.

Congratulations to all TCUC members, especially the Cotter family and the
Gilbertson family. While all the accomplishments listed are amazing, they don’t
really surprise me. I know that the TCUC has worked hard and smart. I wish I
could be there with you at that party.

Again, congratulations. I checked up on the number of members in the Adachi
Club, run by Masanori Wakae (he’ll probably at Unicon X) and they say it is 500!
To tell you the truth, I don’t really believe these figures, but if they are
true I guess that makes it the biggest unicycle club inthe world.

Re: Twin City Unicycle Club - Over 200 members

Where’s the Adachi club?

Adachi Ward (equivalent to borough) is the western part of Tokyo (the city, not
the prefecture).
