There is perhaps a question of whether it’s “in good form” to launch oneself off of obstacles rather than riding over them, but certainly if you don’t make an effort to get airborne and you do anyway, it’s perfectly acceptable.

Is your problem with the technique used though, or is it more an issue of line selection in that they may have launched over an otherwise more difficult section?
