Hi!
I will describe my experience with the Try All Magnesium pedals…
My father was in Italia for a big motorcycle convention, and he bought a try all magnesium for me (he paid 90 euros, very expensive).
I put it on my uni…My first impressions were good… So i started riding it on my Koxx DH Street…
After one week, i don’t know why, the left pedal started to make a little noise… But I Ignored…
So i rided it for 1 month… Last week i was riding and the axis bended…So I changed the axis for a new one (Exactly the same, from Welgo)…
Today when i was riding some trial lines, in a pedal grab i listened a little noise… and when i saw one of the pins had folded and a little crack appeared on the body of the pedal…
I did not had a BIG problem with then, they still alive, but i’m not happy with the pedal…
For freestyle, Flat, Muni i think it’s ok…But for trial and street it’s very fragile…
So if anyone can answer me: Magnesium pedals are more fragile than aluminium pedals? It’s a good deal a Magnesium JC Odissey??
I bought my wellgo mags for $30 shipped. 90Euros? You were ripped off major. The trick to keeping wellgo MG1s in good shape is to remove all the pins from one side. This stops them from ripping out with pieces of body, like what you did.
I rode my uni with magnesium pedals for about a week, I was doing mainly trials and some street, practically no pedal-grabs. In that time I broke three pins and chipped one pedal.
So I decided to switch to plastics. They seem to be working out much better for me.
Danni, i removed the pins from one side of the right pedal and one side of the left pedal, for crank flips and grinding… But when i was doing the trial line, i did not repared on the side of the pedal…
Yeah, my dad didn’t knew the price of the pedal… So he bought from a Koxx dealer (Koxx Price…)
fexnix you really destroyed your welgo!!! I hope that don’t help with me…
Welgo have other magnesium models…I think they have a butterfly style pedal in magnesium!.. Maybe better than this model…
