About 7 years ago I got a odd looking cycle that resembled a unicycle – kinda
like a unicycle with training wheels. Picture a unicycle, with one 12 inch wheel
a foot behind two plastic skateboard wheels, and has a chain a foot brakes. It’s
still fun to ride, but it’s getting old, and I am looking to get another one.
Does anyone know where I can pick up one of these (besides the occasional lucky
eBay auction)?
These things were very fashionable among school kids here in the Netherlands,
some 5 years ago. Lots of them must be lying around unused, but I wouldn’t know
where. If you wanna look at eBay, it may help to know that the Dutch called them
“skate bikes” (not translated).

Hi,
in Germany it was called Skatebike. Maybe this helps you in finding one.
However it never became very popular over here. Perhaps due to its lack in
speed and its weight?

My daughter has one and it’s much faster and lighter (cheaply built) than any of
my unicycles and it has brakes! I can’t tell you where to find them however as
she got hers at a yard sale. It’s much easier to ride than a unicycle.
