the luna is supposed to be too hard and unbouncy
also keep in mind that the maxdaddy isn’t a trials tire.
it is if you have a 20" rim
the best one is the onza sticky fingers
because I said so
i want to try it…
i have found differently, cc bounces better but folds really easily, the luna bounces fine
how wide is your rim?
32mm?
is that what alex dx32 stands for?
don’t know but it is a alex dx 32 and it is about 38mm
32mm is a 20" rim. (not 19")
CC folds easily on a DX rim cause those rims are slimmer.
Although, I dont fold with my CC on the Alex32 rim. Must be your riding style and how you land.
Anyways, riding in the cold will dampen your tires spring, to almost all tires. Try this, dont rely on the spring of your tire to jump, and get better at hopping without it.
sorry, but what exactly is a folding tire… or what is bad about it i guess… i dont know what that means!
When you’re hoppinhg sideways the tire bends/folds around the rim. It’s usually because there either isn’t enough air in the tire, or the rim is too skinny.
It pedending on how bad it folds over, and if you’re expecting it or not, it can take out a lot of your distance, or you can just bail.
I agree with Jerrick. It’s the temperature’s fault. A good way to practice trials is acctualy to fill up your tire so that when you hop it feels literaly like a brick (but dont blow it out) and practice on that. I do it sometimes and it really helps. You learn to rely on tucking and stuff other than tire spring.
but it kills your ankles and knees.
NUH UHH
i ride a BMX tire
my ankles and knees aren’t shot
and btw… i said its the temp first lol
How so?
I ride with 30psi, and its winter know, so there is hardly any compression in my tire. It hasnt affected my hopping height, or how I land.
Sure if your landing rigid and no rollout its gonna hurt, cause your tense, but I land loose, and usually roll out if where I land permits me to do so.
No knee or ankle problems.
Also, look at Ryan Atkins and a lot of the Canadian riders. There videos of them riding during the winter and when its really cold, they are still doing huge lines, and they haven’t mentioned any ankle or knee problems.
I guess it all depends on the rider then. I have to admit my ankles get really sore after alot of big drops even if I have a lowish pressure. but then again I run a bmx tire.
I’ve heard of people having issues with the CC in the cold, even to the point where the tire has frozen solid. I guess the best alternative for the cold is the luna. Although my CC hasn’t had issues yet this “winter”.
My dad’s friend’s motorcycle’s tires (that’s a mouthful) froze and he just sat in his driveway and just spun the wheel in place one day.
Hmm, that might be tough to do.
For some reason I remember Forrest Rowell in the discussion on the frozen tire, he might be able to help you, either that or I could just be insane, sorry.
The soft rubber compound used in the CC, which makes it so grippy, is more prone to freezing than the other rubber compounds used by other tires.
so the squishier it is the more prone it is to freezing?I thought it would be the opposite so that a denser rubber would freeze more easily. Because if you leave a sponge outside in the cold and a block of solid steel, an hour later the steels going to be alot colder.
the BMX tire has a LOT to do with it.
