Trials Frames

Which frame does Adam Ryzander use?, I think that Dan Heaton uses his own custom built titanium frame that weighs less than a pound, I think Adam uses a frame that has long flat strips pf metal insted of tubes or rods, But anyway

Thnx
Aaron

Aaron,

If nobody responds to your question, then shoot over to unicycle.com and look at the trials unicycles. I beleive that in the descriptions they include references to unicycles ridden in UNIverse. That might help.

Work the maze.

Re: Trials Frames

I think Adam’s frame in Universe was a Schwinn but I’m not a 100% sure.

A while back I’d heard that Adam had stopped riding because he was fed up
with breaking and bending things. This was before the advent of Profile hubs
and cranks. Anyone know if this is true and / or if he’s back in the saddle?

Neil

Hey,

Yeah, Adam rode a schwinn in UNiVERsE. Unfortunately he hasn’t really ridden since the filming of UNiVERsE. He got really tired of always riding on broken equipment and also has to try and stay injury free for other sports. He is actually going in for ankle surgery this week from a unicycle injury 2 years ago.

recovery.

What kind of things would break???

Aaron

seats,
seat gaurds and handles,
seat posts,
seat post clamps,
frames,
hubs,
spokes,
rims,
cranks,
pedals,
self.

I’m really frustrated with the whole urban trials thing right now myself…I’ve got my uni all dialed in except the cranks. Monty’s don’t even last me a week. Lot’s of time and money invested in a uni that costs about $15usd an hour to ride. (not counting time and labor, that’s just to replace parts). I understand why Adam doesn’t ride. Right now I’m trying to decide which path to take: Onza or Profile…

improve your dropping tech you can do like 5 footers with out twisting cranks

On the other topic
the spokes rims an other wheel parts are monty the same dan rides

Yesterday I rode a few hours in the near city to train. Bevor I started, I installeted a new left crank… . After this ride this crank was crooked again. I’ll be very poor the next time if I have always to change the crank for every trialride.
But in the next time it would be able for me to get the Onza Hub with 140mm cranks at unicycle.uk.com, I hope for it
Today I have to order a few new cranks…

Have someone of you destroyed Profile or Onza cranks ?

_Felix

ha,thats funny.do you know who your talking to?

Anyway i just got done with my Thread about breaking things and i see this.it is frusrating!thats why i would say to go with the Profiles Dustin, even if they do brake that lifetime Warrenty will ease the stress a little bit.

yes i’d have to say a lifetime warrentie on these generic cranks would be nice, as soon as you get sloppy they twist,

sigh if only i had 600 bucks

thats not what i was refering to Unispin.i was refering to you saying to improve technic.i belive that even the best tech on a 5 foot drop like you say is gonna (in time) brake somthing.unless you weigh less that 100 pounds.

I have 170mm Kooka cranks on my MUni, I’ve had them for almost two years, they’ve seen more drops than my trials, I don’t think they’ve bent so much as a mm.

As far as improving my drop technique…I can’t do that unless I drop. On my trials, drop = bend. I don’t have too much trouble with hubs so I was hoping to get away with the inexspensive hub for awhile. Unfortunately good short cranks don’t exist at any price.

I’ve resisted the Profiles for a couple three reasons:
*wide hub/axel
*I don’t like how the cranks flare out so much
*I would prefer something a little shorter than 140mm for a 20" wheel.
I guess it may be time to give in…too bad I’ll have to get a new frame too! Maybe Dan can hook me up with some Ti.

sorry i don’t mean to be the uuuhhhh aruger here i’m just having a huge mental block

Ps. late night i bent my cranks and suzue hub a bit, just goes to show eh?

dustin,
got some bad news for you. the shortest the profiles come in are 145, which i feel are a bit long too. the flare on the cranks is horrible for your ankles. I bought a pair of 661 for my ankles because I was coming home with bloddy ankles all the time.

The width is my main complaint; urban obsticles require a bit more care to pick through- some apatures are just too tight compared to the Suzue. The destraction can suck the fun out of some rides.

-Christopher

Pictures of BOTH my ankles, not one.

Yikes! Are we to understand that the nice sharp Profile crank necks did this? Does your Momma still love you? Are you one big scab? ?Y-Que?

-Christopher

Those were done by the sharp Profiles. If I ever lose interest in unicycling, or never own a pair of Profiles again… well I will have gotten $315 worth of scaring.

Suck it up, cause those don’t go away unless your gonna ride pigeon-toed. I think we all have that same blood stain in our sox.
