Trials at the NUC

So how did the trials go at the NUC? Did the new rules get used and work
okay? What like were the courses? Any pictures?

As you might guess I’m keen to hear how it all went  All feedback much
appreciated.

Neil

The trials at NUC went really well- there was tons of interest to say the
least. We had a great venue thanks to the Toronto unicyclists, right by
the race track, and lots of cool things to play on including a car.

For the first time a lot of people showed up who actually owned trials
unicycles or MUnis, and I think that between 50 and 60 people must have
played on the course over the day. We didn’t make it competative- just a
trials work shop followed by an all-day free-for-all.

The new trials grading system didn’t get used much; partly my fault
because I didn’t promote it hard enough. I still think it is very
worthwhile and will post a revised “U-system” as soon as I can.

Cheers,

I am nowhere near good enough to handle most of the trials stuff available
at the NUC, but I must say it was excellent, esp. the car. Kris’s U system
seems like an excellent idea. I was only disappointed not to see more
female riders taking advantage of the trials area, tho I was happy to see
that Irene Genelin was trying out her newly won Pashley there. When I
glanced over at one point, she was bouncing atop the car in her impeccable
style. Ashley Wood said she’d be trying it out too.
