Trees are solidified air and sunlight. They are carbon from the carbon dioxide humans and other animals exhale.
The minerals from the soil are what’s left (a few ashes) after you burn a tree.

Plus a fair bit of water, and hydrogen in the carbon compounds, with some nitrogen too I believe, in addition to the trace minerals. Carbon forms about 50% of a tree. Nice poetic thought though.
