tracked unicycle

ive jus come up with the amazing idea of a tracked unicycle like a tank has anyone ever seen one just thaught i would start smething

it wouldent be a unicycle. in order to have the track you would need two wheels. Maybe a tracked 3wheeled giraff. But thats what a unicycle is…the rim and then the tire as the track

i spose that is a good point hahah silly me or sometthing lie a 2 wheeled giraff but space between the wheels and the a track still cant see it working though

what would be the point?

whats the point of a giraff unicycle…?

performance aspect. Because it is higher up it appears more dangerous so when tricks are done adds alittle more to the act.

I mostly use it for parades or charity runs.

or what cool bananas said is true too also.

have you ever tried a giraffe…they are very fun

and if you question this then really…whats the point of a unicycle??? i have never fit in, so why be ordinary?:stuck_out_tongue:

1) Yes and you are absolutely correct on the fun part.
2) Ordinary is irrelevant and that should make you feel special somewhat.

What about this… It’s a little rough, but essentially, you control the middle wheel, and the tread spins.

Even though its a cheap drawing. I have to say nice work Poseidon.

Yea as long as the driving wheel dosnt touch the belt/track it would work. Who is going to be the first one to make and ride it then?

Maybe you should, something tells me. It would look awesome if you tried it.

Thanks, I would but I dont have much time right now. I have an exam tomorrow and more through the week. Who else can weld and has copious amounts of wheels? The only problem is, what would you use for the belt/track?

yer i could could give it ago but as as said what would you use for track poisiden it must be something with people who ride dxes coz ive got one to hahah

Thanks!

I was just thinking of tank tread, but it’s round on the bottom, and the drive wheel is propelled by pedal-power.

this may sound complocated but i was thing maybe taking all of the pins out of a chain laying 5 chaims next to each other and repalcing the 5 pins with one long thin boly and then you would get a thickinsh chann then have it sprocket dtrivin haha

I am not trying to wreck your fun but give you a better alternative.

What is the purpose of a tracked unicycle?
To give you a larger footprint

What shape must the track be on the bottom to allow the tracked unicycle to turn?
rounded

What are some downsides of a tracked unicycle?
Increased friction and lost gyroscopic stability

An alternative that fixes the problems but still gives the benefits of a tracked unicycle
A geared down 36er.

Now go discuss how gearing down would work

just playing with weird unicycle ideas nothing practical

 Why not use these as they are built to last.
