nice. thats about me for my 100 sprint. but im not super fast. i just found out today that my track teams 4x1 (4person relay, each person runs 100)was ranked 5th in the US. dang… i thought that was insane…
I am the shot put and discus coach for our high school girls track team. We attended the indoor conference meet last night in which our JV team won the JV conference championship. We had a very successful meet in the throwing pits as most of my girls set personal best marks several times throughout the evening. It was a late night for us though as we arrived back at the school after midnight.
The boys indoor conference meet is next Thusday. Brad (freshman) will compete with the varsity team in middle distance, relays and triple jump. We’re hoping that he continues to recover well from his illness over the last week and a half when he missed an entire week of school. And he’ll finally get to use the $200 worth of shoes we bought him for this season.
haha souns just like me.i got these spikes for polevaulting and i couldnt use them until aout a week ago because i pulled my quad… its almost back to normal though so its all good.
I’m not sure if this is good or not, but last night, the entire arena was watching one girl at the end of the pole vault event after everyone else was out. I think she ended up clearing 10½ feet. I love watching the pole vault. It’s a very impressive event.
Um, I hate to correct the corrector but this is Pole Vault. You still have to vault over the bar.
The real problem with setting the bar so low is finding a set of Pole Vault Standards that go down to 12".
I don’t remember many of my PR’s from 30 years ago. I ran 180 low hurdles, anchor on the 4x100, 100, 220, long jump and triple jump.
I ran the 100 yard in about 10.4, what is the conversion factor to the 100M equivalent?
The only current PR I have is I did the 1600 in 8:30 a few weeks ago. I was blazin’! Feet were on fire (or was that just the planar facietis kicking in?).
We would practice quickness with very short sprints. I think my best was a 4-minute 40. I believe I can still run it to this day.
Some of my other personal athletic bests are in diving. While in my teens and after much practice, I was finally able to perfect a 2¼ dive from the 3m board.
I got first in city in the 200 (22.90), second in the long jump (19’11"), third in the 100 (11.01) and i have yet to run the 400, but i am seeded second with a time of 51.2.
I had never ran a timed 400 until last meet, and apperantly i’m really good at it so now i am in the city finals in the fast heat seeded with the second fastest score, it’s intense.
I love track. I am not in it though. But I always go to every home track meet and watch. I like to ride my unicycle around at the track meets. I would have done track this year but I sprained my ankle during football season. I probably would have done hurdles or something. I kind of wish I could have done track this year but then I would have to go to track practice every day and not have much time to practice on my uni.
We just returned from a dual meet with DeKalb. Brad’s running on the varsity team as a freshman and racked up three PR’s tonight! I couldn’t see Brad’s triple jump because I was running the discus event but he ran over after his jumps to tell me about it. He PR’d by a foot and a half tonight with a jump of 38’-2"…and actually won the event. Then he ran a 5:12 in the 1600m, turned around one event later and ran a 58 second leg in the 1600m relay.
