We were up at 4:30 a.m. this morning to head to a wrestling tournament in Rockford, IL at Guilford H.S. It was a freshman tourney with 12 teams in attendance. Ben went into the tourney seeded #1 in the 145 lb. weight class. After a full 11-hour day of wrestling, Ben came out on top as the 145 lb. tournament champion!
First round match against Freeport: Win by fall (pinned his man) at 1:29 in the second period.
Second round match against Boylan: Win at the end of three periods by a score of 5-1.
Third and Fourth rounds: bye
Championship round against St. Charles North: Win by fall at 1:49 in the second period.
Rochelle H.S. placed second in the overall team point standings.
