I feel bad for you.
How long does a torn ligament take to heal and does it have any long-term effects?

Too bad about your damaged ligaments. I highly recommend you follow the advice of your doctor, not advice from unicyclists who did not tear the same ligaments and aren’t doctors. A friend of mine broke his ankle unicycling (riding one-footed on a 6’ giraffe, in the rain, in a parade, downhill). He removed the cast prematurely because the itching was driving him nuts. As a result, he never regained full range of motion in that joint and he’s not going to, as this was 25 years ago.

I feel THIIIIIS

bad for you.

Eesh, that sucks. Sorry, man. Best of luck.

I’ve torn the ligaments in my ankles three times now, it takes 3 full months to completely heal, even with physio and ultrasound treatment. I could ride on it before this time but it would twinge randomly whihc doesn’t inspire confidence if you;re trying something big. I hope yours isn’t that bad, get wel soon.

i completely agree:D

yea i know i just tried getting on and it didnt hurt, but im not gonna be riding soon… although the doctor said that it may only take 1-2 weeks to heal :astonished: yea crazy. I can already walk on it without crutches and no pain. In fact, when i was at the hospital, the nurse even asked me if i wanted crutches at all. I find that a little strange because if i said no, then i wouldnt have them. Yes, but the doctor said that if i did re-injure it at all, i could end up with a loose ankle? i guess thats just where your ankle doesnt work like it used to… so i will be taking it extremely easy untill its healed. thanks for the advice and your concern!
