Torker quality

I’m putting some unicycle recommendations together for a friend who works
at a juggling shop and noted the Torker looks like it has a reasonable
frame for freestyle tricks.

Any comments on the quality of the Torker unicycle? Known problems etc?

It looks like it could be a cheap alternative for those who can’t
afford a Miyata.

I think the Torker combines the best elements of the cheap end of unicycle
technology. It has main cap bearing holders instead of lolipops, a square
fork instead of unicrown, and decent parts throughout for the price.

The seat gets mixed reviews, but it is a far cry from what you used to get
on a cheapie. This one has real foam padding and plastic bumpers. The old
kind was made of bendy metal, had metal bars, was too wide in the front,
and just overall nasty.

The feedback I’ve heard on Torker seats is that because they are small
they appeal better to kids. All around it’s great for learning on as it
will take the drops. Then the user can decide on an upgrade.

For me, definitely the best unicycle in the price range. I have already
bought two of them for nieces and nephews…

I have been really happy with my Torker. It has withstood wheel walking
attempts (when I was learning) and pogo’ing attempts (which can really
kill a wheel), and it’s still perfect.

My friend bought two of them at Christmas time last year, one for himself
one for his son, and I thought they looked pretty good. I didn’t care for
the stock saddles much, but they weren’t the worst I’d ever seen,
especially considering the low price for the unicycle.

They’re still holding up, and his son rides 'em a LOT. They got Miyata
saddles for theirs and are very happy.
